The Red Marlin in San Diego is located at the Hyatt Mission Bay tucked back behind the pool by the harbor. The views are amazing and they have a huge outdoor dining area you can sit and look at the water. We went for happy hour and got red wine and then espresso martinis that were both amazing! We also tried the steak dinner that I scarfed down in legit 3 minutes - it was so good! We sat at the bar and the bartender was super nice and funny and we talked to him a lot of the time we were there. We had an amazing experience!
I ate breakfast twice at the Red Marlin while staying at the Hyatt Mission Bay for a recent business trip. Both breakfasts were outstanding and the staff is so accommodating, friendly and welcoming. All of the food was fresh and delicious and the gorgeous view of the harbor with all the yachts was soothing and relaxing. They have a separate entrance for those not staying at the Hyatt. What stood out to me was their bacon. It was lean, fresh, and thick cuts. I travel a lot for work and recently stayed at a Hilton property and their bacon was awful like from a fast food restaurant. So I throughly enjoyed my meals and the excellent customer service. They offered me a fresh coffee to go and that was helpful. Therefore, next time I'm in San Diego I look forward to trying this restaurant again for lunch and dinner. I know they have a good happy hour because I saw many people enjoying themselves at the fire pits.
Solid food a bit pricey. I had the airline chicken which had a sweet corn puree that was quite tasty. Husband had catch of the day Tuna with risotto that was delicious. Cocoa kiss dessert was also quite tasty chocolate dessert. The service was very attentive and friendly without over doing it.
Had an amazing dinner here with my family. The food is delicious and service is great with a beautiful view of the bay. This place is hidden behind hotel but worth it. The kids enjoyed their tenders, we enjoyed the crispy calamari and my well prepared steak. Yummmmm...
We went here for breakfast as it was included with our hotel stay. We were immediately seated and staff was very attentive. The food itself was all good except the bacon had a bad smoked flavor to it. The only reason it loses a star is the pricing. For four of us with tip, it was $125 (which luckily is included with our hotel stay).
We had brunch at Red Marlin since we were staying at Hyatt in Mission Bay. Unfortunately for us, it was a busy weekend so the wait time to be seated was nearly an hour. Our server was so friendly and helpful, and he let us know that the food comes out really fast which accounts for the long wait for tables. He was right! After ordering, our food was served within minutes. I ordered the eggs benedict and they were so delicious! The only downfall was one of my poached eggs was overcooked and didn't have runny yolk. Besides that everything else was great! The breakfast potatoes were my favorite, cooked and seasoned perfectly. My family also ordered the avocado toast, and it was loaded with creamy avocado, tomato, poached eggs, served with heaps of arugula salad. At least both of the poached eggs on the avocado toast were cooked just right. Red Marlin is a great casual, family-friendly breakfast spot when you're in the Mission Bay area.
Red Marlin Waterfront Restaurant located at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina offers an exceptional dining experience with California coastal cuisine, stunning bay views, and excellent service. This is such an underrated spot! Beautiful views by the water, a fireside pit, and a lovely vibe. It's perfect for a traditional date night! The cocktails are stronggggg and my favorite items off the menu include the pork belly ( So juicy and the flavor is to die for) and the burrata salad which was so fresh.
I came here for a Friday morning breakfast as I was staying at the hotel. It is a breakfast buffet with plenty of options. I was seated quickly after arriving and went to grab my food. I had the eggs, pancakes, potatoes and oatmeal. All the items were as I expected. They also do omelets and non scrambled eggs, but you have to order that through your server. I was in a rush, soI opted to not. Ultimately, the buffet made it easy for me to grab a quick breakfast. I would not mind going back. The place is on the water and has a great view.
